Established with funds received from Mrs. Fay B. Ireland to support Alabama students pursuing degrees in nursing at the University of Alabama School of Nursing at UAB. Criteria: preference will be given to high school seniors who have been admitted to pre-nursing at UAB and, if qualified, intend to enroll in the degree-granting program offered by the School of Nursing at UAB, at which time the scholarship funds will be awarded. Applicants must demonstrate financial need as determined by the UAB Office of Financial Aid. The School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs announces application deadline and procedures.
Federation Scholarship Program
In today's international marketplace, graduate school abroad is an option that offers experience and tremendous reward to North American students. Australian universities offer a wide variety of programs and faculties that are very attractive to students and prepare them for employment. Several of the universities have excellent programs in health professions.

Fitzgerald Health Education Associates MSN-NP Student Research Grant
To provide funding to members of AANP who wish to conduct research for a master's degree project.

Established in honor of Dr. Florence Alberta Hixson, the first Dean of the University of Alabama School of Nursing, University of Alabama at Birmingham, by family, friends, and associates. Criteria: current enrollment in study leading to an advanced degree in nursing at UAB and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs announces application deadline and procedures.
Florida Nurses Foundation Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to Florida residents who are interested in working on an undergraduate or graduate degree in nursing.
Duration: 1 semester or year.
Deadline: May of each year. Florida Scholarship Program
Open to residents of the general area of Jacksonville, Florida, who are US citizens and live in the vicinity of a Tyson facility. Renewable!
Duration: 1 year.
Deadline: March of each year. FNSNA Scholarship
Applicant must be enrolled at a state-approved school of nursing or pre-nursing in an associate degree, baccalaureate, diploma, generic doctorate, or generic master's program. Award cannot be used for graduate education, unless it leads to a first degree in nursing. Selection is based upon academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in student nursing organizations and community service related to health care. Applicant will automatically be considered for any specialty scholarships for which he or she is eligible.

Several scholarships for children of the First Cavalry Division soldiers who died or have been declared 100% disabled during the Vietnam War or Desert Storm. Francis H. Sherman Memorial Scholarship
To provide financial assistance to students currently enrolled in nursing schools in Rhode Island.

Deadline: May of each year. Francis S. Falkenburg Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Established with funds from the family of Francis S. Falkenburg, former member of the State Legislature of Alabama and lobbyist for UAB and ASNA (The Alabama State Nurses Association). Criteria: admission to or current full-time enrollment in the undergraduate program in the School of Nursing at UAB and demonstrate financial need as determined by the UAB Office of Financial Aid. Frank Blanchard Scholarships
To provide financial assistance to members of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists who are residents of New Hampshire or pursuing further education at a program in designated states.
