Duties and Responsibilities:  





?         Maintains clean and safe work environment: Work area cleaned daily; sanitized properly. Spills wiped up immediately, put out wet floor signs. Food/objects on floor picked up immediately. Always follows safe food handling guidelines.
?         Food Preparation: Prep work complete and timely. Prepares food to meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste and appearance. Wrap, date and rotate items daily; alert supervisor if problem. 
?         Use of equipment: Uses equipment properly and safely. Cleans and sanitizes equipment after use.
?         Food safety: Discards outdated food in a timely manner. Records assigned temperatures daily. Demonstrates good hand hygiene; wears gloves when appropriate. Thaws food per safe handling guidelines. Cools food to standard temperatures in correct timeframe. (Report any food or equipment problems to supervisor). 
?         Maintain stock of food and supplies in caf?: All items set-up (Fruit, bread, pastries, desserts, salad and sandwich bar, beverages) according to standards of food safety. Pull outdated items and take to supervisor. Always complete set-up in time for opening. Replenish food items and supplies as necessary to maintain a continuous supply for customers. Change fountain soda and CO2 containers as needed.
?         Set-up, run and balance cash register: Count drawer before start of shift; tell supervisor if discrepancy. Run register with 90% accuracy. Run register tape at end of each meal ? will have 2 tapes.
?         Perform general cleaning duties: Clean out salad bar at scheduled times. Wipe down and sanitize all counter tops in the serving area. Wipe down all machines, coolers. Wipe and sanitize all tables, seats in caf? during and after each main meal service time. Empty trash as needed. 
?         Other duties as assigned: Demonstrates willingness and follows through with other duties requested.
 
 
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions: 





?         Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 40lbs). Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. Subject to burns and cuts. Exposed to hazards of odors, steam, heat, humidity and varying degrees of food service elements.</description>

Duties and Responsibilities:  




?         Lead staff in dietary, caf? and nutrition departments: Direct and ensure completion of daily work of all non-licensed staff, including food prep and cleaning. Ensure staff adherence to sanitation and safety standards, i.e. temperature and cleaning logs complete 100% of the time, glove usage, uniform and hair cover, proper use of soap and sanitizer, hand hygiene. Counsel staff and/or recommend disciplinary action when appropriate. Evaluate employee performance within established timeframes.
?         Staffing and education: Interview, hire and terminate staff. Schedule employees. Complete department orientation on time with all new employees. Adhere to on-boarding guidelines. Ensure adequate education of all staff. Plan and present monthly in-service as assigned. Do follow-up sessions to reach all staff. Maintain education logs.
?         Patient service: Oversee meal ordering, food preparation, tray assembly and delivery of patient food and snacks. Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all. Monitor customer service. 
?         Food and supplies: Order food and supplies as scheduled and prn for patient, caf?, catering menus and nourishment stock. Order within budgetary guidelines. Minimize waste of food in all areas. 
?         Caf? and catering events: Oversee all aspects of operations to meet standards of quality, quantity, appearance, and timely delivery of food. Ensure staff&apos;s adherence to customer service standards. 
?         Department maintenance: Assigns and ensure completion of cleaning tasks in all areas. Check all equipment ? call for repair prn. 
?         Communication: Communicate pertinent information to manager, other supervisors and all staff. Keep communication open at all times. Conduct staff meetings at all times. Conduct staff meetings at least monthly ? agenda posted, minutes following. Communicate with staff in other departments.
?         Healthstream: All annual Healthstream modules 100% successfully completed. 
?         Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC&apos;s Service Standards into their daily work.
