        <description>Full Time varies         The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise department personnel under the direction of the resource coordinator and department manager.  The person holding this position will insure the environmental cleanliness and safety of all areas and/or properties of the hospital. This position serves all populations of visitors, employees, physicians and patients.
 
Knowledge acquired through completion of a general high school education is preferred.  Prefer at least six (6) months experience with housekeeping routines, policies and procedures.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Ability to communicate and interpret assignments issued through a computerized paging system.
 

Communicates all hospital-related issues honestly, professionally and timely to  resource coordinator, and/or departmental manager.
Performs all duties of the Environmental Services Aides to insure completion of daily task schedules.
Performs rounds and provides written documentation of inspections to assess the cleanliness of work areas to ensure departmental and hospital policies, procedures and safety rules are observed.  Corrects and educates employees of any unacceptable work.
Identifies and documents performance issues of employees; takes necessary action to recognize achievement and correct problems; and provides input and participates in the employees&apos; performance review process.
Provides orientation and training to new employees and provides retraining of present staff as needed.
Prepares daily work schedules one week in advance to assure appropriate coverage of all areas.  Schedules will be given to the administrative assistant at the end of each week.
Ensures all employees have sufficient equipment/supplies to perform their duties.
Schedules and conducts monthly team meetings/in-services.
Seeks and explores ways to improve the department and makes recommendations to the department&apos;s resource coordinator and manager.</description>

Performs other duties as assigned.
