Job Description:

Full-Time 7p-7a Nights
Utilizes the Nursing Process to provide comprehensive evidence based care to a designated high acuity patient population. Interfaces with multidisciplinary team members to provide optimum care. Assumes responsibility and accountability for incorporating the vision, values, mission, and critical goals of the organization into their job performance.

The staff member provides comprehensive care of the critically ill child based on the principles of growth and development of the pediatric patient served in his/her independent unit. Nursing care of the acute and critically ill patient includes collecting relevant patient health data, analyzes the data to determine a nursing diagnosis, identify individualized, expected outcomes for the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the patients progress towards attaining expected outcomes, and systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Provision of care is given as described in the Scottsdale Healthcare Patient Care Policies and service or unit specific Department Operating Policies.

Staff members are required to possess a current nurse license in the State of Arizona or RN License from a Compact State. Current PALS and ACLS are required to work in the PICU. These certifications must be maintained for the duration of employment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Failure to do so will result in reassignment to another department, corrective action, or termination, as appropriate.

Performance Standards may vary depending on unit assigned; percentage of time spent performing duties also vary according to unit and staffing needs. Required to float and provide care for patients both in PICU and General Pediatric Department.

Basic Education
Associate's Degree/Diploma from an accredited NLN /CCNE institution
State Licensure
BLS Healthcare Provider Training Course
Current PALS and ACLS
Basic Experience
None
Preferred Experience - 2 years PICU nursing
