Job Description:

Active Full Time Days Under the supervision of the designated Director and supervising physician, provides efficient, cost effective, quality out-patient care in accordance with established State rules and regulations defining the Nurse Practitioner Scope of Practice. Functions as an extension of the physician in diagnosing and treating patient conditions by performing tasks or combination of tasks traditionally performed by the physician and is expected to act in accordance with the personal service team expectations adopted by the Company and project a positive image and service excellence of the Company and Hospital
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Current Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
This position requires six years of education which includes a Bachelor of SThis position requires six years of education which includes a Bachelor of Science from a nationally accredited school of nursing with current Indiana licensure to practice as a registered nurse and documented evidence of completion of a nurse practitioner program that meets the American Nurses Association guidelines.
Professional knowledge and application skills of patient assessment and management from the traditional nurse practitioner program are required.
Must have the ability and knowledge to educate and counsel patients and families on medications; diseases; treatment plans; procedures and preventive healthcare.
Ability to periodically lift/carry/move objects weighing up to 50 pounds to assist immobile patients.
CONTACTS:Internal:Regular contact with Practice Manager and all facility staff and providers.External:Extensive patient contact.
WORKING CONDITIONS: 1.Normal clinic environment emotionally and physically demanding with potential exposure to infections; illnesses; and disease processes that demand adherence to standard universal precaution policy.
2.Category I under the Universal Precautions standards (tasks involving anticipated contact with blood; body fluids or tissues) basically due to various preparatory procedures and requires practice of and regular adherence to published health and safety policies and procedures.
